Looking forward to the album! I don't see how it can't be amazing with this line up of talent!

    Phil Collins ruined The Fringe

    (someone had to say it)

On a different note: Will there be more Lo-Fi Resistance discs available at RoSfest, since you sold out of them before I could get them all?

I can't say for sure, but hopefully someone will have some copies to sell. Greg Walker would be a likely candidate.

The first porn I ever watched had Low Spark of High Heeled Boys as the soundtrack. IIRC, the movie was Hot Dallas Nights, a parody of the TV show Dallas. Maybe not prog, per say, but not exactly mainstream.

I wonder if they shot them some royalties for using that song.

Well, I'd say we're more King's X and Kyuss than King Crimson and Kansas. More The Police and Prince than Procol Harum and Premiata Forneria Marconi. More…ok, shut up.

"I only watch porn for the soundtrack."

Are we talking about the whole album here? I don't want to know the visuals that may have accompanied "Rainmaker" or "Hidden Treasure."

    That wasn't a comparison post.

No, just the one song. That lick, the slow one that is the main riff, over and over.

Not unlike B.O.C.'s Don't Fear The Reaper(more cowbell, please) I can't hear Low Spark without thinking of that porn flick. This was in the early '80's( I borrowed a porno from stepdad) and I never heard the song until the late '80's/early '90's. I do remember, I was working for the newspaper('88-'93) and the proofreader, Corky(never did find out his real name) had a little radio there with the "classic" rock of that era playing. Lo and behold, this riff comes on and I was a bit stunned.

There was a banana involved so hence Hot Dallas Nights is also in the Deep Purple family tree. Who isn't, at this point? I also wonder if Traffic got paid for that but I'd guess not.

Yes but it wasn't the "money shot" they were hoping for.

I know. I just wanted to get off the Prog path a bit.

Just a little update that there is now an official website for the band. It's very basic for now, with links to all of the current social media accounts; Facebook, Twitter, Intagram, YouTube…There is also a mailing list that takes less than a minute to fill out if you want to be kept up to date. The spam will be minimal.

I just pre-ordered The Fringe CD, and I'm keeping my eyes open for any shows near Michigan. Nick is close enough in Fort Wayne, I'm hoping he sets up a CD release party in downtown Fort Wayne. Less than a 3 hour drive for my wife and I. We are there! Just say the word.
