Thread: Owner Of The Power Of Love

Owner Of The Power Of Love

Why? I don't know Here it is, my first attempt at screwing around with a mashup, just like I threatened to in another thread. With time I could probably do a lot more and make parts of it more harmonically correct but I've already invested more time in this than it deserves *lol*

Interesting, must be a slow night at Glass Hammer headquarters.

Note to self: must pre-order Double Live album.

I thought it was an all-Trevor Horn affair and you meant Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Power Of Love", which sounded crazier than with Huey Lewis' song. Anyway, funny.

I thought it was going to be Jennifer Rush' "Power of Love". It's progressive.

It's exactly what I thought it would be when I saw the title. How do you guys do this stuff anyway? Er, it is interesting but never cared for either song.

I too was expecting the JR or FGTH version. However, this mix drives home how truly awful Huey Lewis and the News were.

    Nicely done!

And now how about "The power of a lonely heart"? HL singing over the Yes-Track...not sure if it would work.

I thought it was going to be a thread about a copyright tussle between Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Huey Lewis and Jennifer Rush.

    I need a 5.1 version of this.
And the alternate version with Eddie Jobson.
And the never-seen-before Roger Dean artwork with the floating rocks.
    And the James Cameron videoclip.
And the unedited version of the lawsuit files "Yes vs Lewis vs Horn vs Dean vs Cameron vs trurl"
    Time for a boxed set.

And how truly awful Owner is. God I hate, hate, hate that song with the intensity of one thousand suns.

Maybe the chorus part where Power of Love goes to the parallel major key was slightly iffy, but even that worked better than I expected it to. Nicely done, Fred!

Actually I like this a lot more than either original. Nice job indeed.

First of all, "The Power of Love" is the greatest of 80s power-pop songs. There is nothing else that comes close. Secondly, something.

    The 80's really were appalling.

Thanks! It's a really interesting process doing something like that.

Yeah but but some guitar bands did their best work in the 80s. For example, AC/DC. There, I said it. And Metallica too.

Wow. That is really cool, Fred!

Isolated tracks are everywhere, the sources usually being 5.1 mixes and stems from the game Rockband. There are tons of blogs now putting up videos of them

I have them all. I have about 30-50 gigs of isolated tracks. Message me.
