    Happy Birthday Lol Creme....!

Tomorrow (Sept 19), a happy 68th to one of my musical heroes!

A driving force behind the greatest 10cc albums, video pioneer, Producers(with Trevor Horn), inventor (The Gizmo), and of course the totally unique Godley And Crème (and why does the internet always automatically put an accent on the 'e' in his name? He is adamant that it should not be there). L, Freeze Frame, and of course the overblown masterpiece Consequences.

I made a "Blint 17" baseball shirt which I wore at Progday this year and nobody got the joke....! No Consequences fans, I guess

...and a clip of the 'hit' from Consequences.... and it must be noted that on this album, and L, and Freeze Frame, Lol plays all instruments except drums. And it's neat to watch Kevin Godley (out of his mind on hash) bristle at miming their tunes.....and they'd make their bones later making other musicians do just that.

Oh, them wacky geniuses! In any scenario, Lol is the man. He is the thinking man's Paul McCartney.

Does it matter that this waste of time is what makes a life for you?

My first time hearing L in the 70s was an essential "have I died and gone to heaven" moment - I think I played it three times in a row. So brilliant!

    Aloha Lol!

I saw the shirt, but I didn't make the connection. I've played Consequences alot; mostly the Gizmo side.

...and for another of my musical heroes to chime in here is an unexpected treat!

For the record I believe 'Lol' is a British nickname for a fellow named Laurence/Lawrence...another example is Lol Tolhurst from The Cure.
