My Vinyl LP Changed Color !?!

I drag out my old Bob Dylan Stealin' bootleg and was shocked to see the clear yellow vinyl is an orange/brown color now !

I've never seen nor heard of anything like this before.

I immediately checked on my yellow vinyl Yes On Tour LP, just a foot away in the collection, and it was perfectly OK. (both TMOQ).
Nothing else changed color either. WTF is going on ?? Sure, it was probably a different batch of vinyl, but if it was a fault in the vinyl chemistry, more than just a run of Dylan LP's would be going bad.
Who's the chemical engineer around here ?

Your vinyl is bronzed. Dylan was always ahead of his time!

Your guess is as good as mine about what's in that old TMOQ vinyl. I might have to dig out some of mine. But, I don't think I have any colored ones. I have a Hendrix TMOQ that's half black and half clear.

What mood were you in when you pulled it out (the vinyl that is)?

Somehow it's appropriate that it was Dylan. Seems his records are just as changeable and unreliable as his concerts.

Was the cover housed on a PVC outer protective sleeve? Though turning "darker" is the first time I'm hearing... they usually turn white-ish.

Once it goes black, it won't come back.

If you could make vinyl do that on purpose that would be cool as heck.

Yes, album cover was covered w/ plastic sleeve.
My first guess was acid from the paper, but surely this would affect other colors too.
I've been inside Union Carbide's Texas City vinyl plant/factory and have seen food-grade preservatives (I think it was BHT) added to the formula. It was added for ultraviolet protection. (vinyl chloride gas + catalyst + additives turned into moldable pellets.) This wasn't the LP formula, just the vinyl base. A lot more additives are needed.
I don't know who or where the final LP vinyl formula is mixed. (anybody know ?)

Maybe just a little. I can understand the vocals, so it's not too Dylanesque.
