New Anna Von Hausswolff song out/album coming

    Hey there folks;

Anna Von Hausswolff has a new album coming in November, called 'The Miraculous.' The first track is available online (Soundcloud embedded in the linked page below). At first blush, it is similar to 'Ceremony' with the prominent organ presence; however, about midway in the song really goes into new territory, picking up a heavy band sound that almost sounds like a stoner version of Godspeed You! Black Emperor to my ears.

Gorgeous stuff that I'm pretty sure will make some kids around here smile a nice, brooding, dark smile

    Enjoy!

Really great!! Can't wait for the new album, and hoping she comes back to the states on tour. I got into her last year a month after she came to Chicago.

I literally happened on her prior tour by accident, when I was walking back from one venue and saw a sign for "experimental rock from Sweden" on another joint. Good god was she astoundingly good.

So yeah, I'd love to catch her on tour for the next one.

How does she replicate the church organ sound live?

When I saw her, she was using a digital keyboard (I think it was a Roland VK model). Obviously you lose a little something in that translation but to be honest, it worked very well.

She often performs live in churches with massive organs, but if it's a club gig she uses Nord.

Thanks for the heads up. As I've posted previously, my wife played "Ceremony" many, many times since it's release, so new music from Anna is much appreciated. I listened to the new song on the NPR site...I will warn my wife of it's heaviness. Also began watching the live clip from Seattle...would love to see the band live.

Review of her new album, including some new samples:

    http://thequietus.com/articles/19179...aculous-review

    Good quote from article:

"This album is a pretty astonishing piece of work. Hausswolff has pushed out into unmapped territory where post-rock, prog, doom metal, modern classical and high church music all co-exist in uneasy alliance. It's the type of album you have to commit to completely, but for those seeking a glimpse of the numinous, it's worth the effort."

I'm very excited to get my hands on this in the next few days.

Ian/Nogbad - if you haven't given this a listen, you might want to do so. Thinking this might be very much up your alley...

Interesting how Anna's new album is called "THE MIRACULOUS"...

And now Dream Theater's new album is called "THE ASTONISHING."

I wonder who's album will really be all that?

Does the new Hausswolff include a cameo from a dude named Nafaryus? I think.....NOT

The vinyl edition of Ceremony sounds quite nice. I may have to pull the trigger on this new one.

She's the daughter of Carl Michael von Hausswolff, who is a legend in his own right.

Yeah, got it yesterday and gave it an inaugural spin en route to work this morning. So far, I'm liking it lots. Wonderfully dark, atmospheric stuff.

She is great. Love her music. Last month I heard her play the church organ in Nijmegen. Very impressive!
