I'm presuming that the list is for hard rock albums where the group had more than 2 or 3 albums released. So I wonder why no Budgie, Iron Butterfly, Trapeze, Ian Gillan, TYA, James Gang even the Pretty Things.

Only because I forgot them That said I don't know enough of the music of Trapeze or The James Gang to make a choice.

Please add your LP for each of those bands to your list then, thanks. And when I finally post my list they will also be on it.

Okay, I've put the list in alphabetical order, plus I've added a few bands I forgot, that I remembered and was reminded about..thanks GB

Also the bands on my opening list & those I've since added are 60s & 70s bands I like and listen to (hence the absence of Status Quo, ZZ Top, Vanilla Fudge, Foghat) and are all bands that predate the true heavy metal and nwobhm bands that erupted in the late 70s and 80s (hence the absence of Maiden, Motorhead, Saxon, Manowar, Def Leppard, Venom, Death etc.)

For me it is a list of the first wave of hard rock starting with the 60s heavy blues and psych of Cream, Doors, Zepp, Hendrix, TYA and the first proto-metallers of Sabbath, Blue Cheer and Judas Priest and southern rock and boogie bands up to the post-Purple sounds of Rainbow, Dio, Gillan and Whitesnake, and the shock horror bands like Kiss and AC, amongst other hard rocking styles and factions.

    AC/DC – If you want blood….
    Aerosmith –Toys in the attic
    Alice Cooper – School’s out
    April Wine – First Glance
    Atomic Rooster – DWBY
    Bad Company – s/t debut
Black Oak Arkansas – High on the Hog
    Black Sabbath – Paranoid
    Blackfoot – Highway Song Live
    Blue Cheer - VE
    BTO – Not Fragile
    Budgie - NTYBOAF
BÖC – Agents of Fortune (Secret Treaties a very close second, too close to call it really)
    Cream – Disraeli Gears
Deep Purple – In Rock (Machine Head very close behind)
    Dio – Holy Diver
    Free – F & W
    GFR/GF – Grand Funk Lives
    Gillan – Future Shock
Hawkwind – Space Ritual (the Road Hawks compo runs it a very close second)
    Humble Pie - Rock on
    Iron Butterfly –In-a-Gadda…
    JHE – Are You Experienced?
Judas Priest – Sad wings…. (British Steel very close behind)
    Kiss - Destroyer
    Led Zeppelin – IV
    Lynyrd Skynyrd – Pronounced….
    Molly Hatchet –s/t debut
    Montrose – s/t debut
    Mountain - Avalanche
    Nazareth – s/t debut
Queen – News of the World (II is a very close second)
    Rainbow – R B’s Rainbow
Scorpions – Virgin Killer (sadly I only have it with the replacement cover photo )
    Spooky Tooth - Two
    Steppenwolf – s/t 3rd album
    Ted Nugent - CSF
    The Doors – Strange Days
The Pretty Things - S.F. Sorrow
    Thin Lizzy – Black Rose
    TYA - Stonedhenge
UFO – UFO2 - Flying - One Hour Space Rock (perhaps the only vinyl LP I own with 3 alternative titles on the cover)
Uriah Heep – Demons & Wizards
Whitesnake – Come an’ get it
    Wishbone Ash – New England

Nice to see votes for Demons & Wizards and Paranoid.

I don't really rate the pre-Byron UH albums at all. The first two V E V U and Salisbury I rarely listen to, the first classic UH album for me is Look At Yourself.

Black Sabbath - Heaven & Hell
    Rainbow - Rising
    Deep Purple - In Rock
    Queen II

    Pretty easy choices for me.
