Ponty - Individual Choice
Ive been on a huge Ponty kick lately on the heels of getting tickets for the upcoming APB show in October. This is one of the only albums of his I don't own.
Any thoughts???

Holdsworth is on it, I believe, for a couple of tracks.

I think it is one of his best

I agree. "Incantations" is one of the best sequencer tracks I've ever heard. Oscar Romero is a great track too. Those two are the stand-outs; the rest is above average fusion. Good stuff!

I really like it. Modern-ish in flavor but really good in my book.

It has a very dated sound but I still kind of like it myself. May not be his best but worth having.

I've had this album since it was first released and I still listen to it regularly.
Although not unique to this LP, the drum machine/sequencer tracks, make swirly patterns on the surface of the vinyl.
Great stuff!

I don't find it sounding dated at all. The American Idol guy does a great job on track 2, and George Duke on track 3.
If there's a "dated" sounding JLP album, to me it's Upon the Wings of Music.
