    Paladin - 70's jazz rock

I vaguely remember these guys from the 70's. Anyone else remember them?

Good stuff. Great Roger Dean cover for the 2st album too. I have the double CD containing both plus extra material and originally had Charge! on vinyl.

I have Charge!, but would be hard pressed to describe it as jazz-rock. That album, at least, is more of a straight-up rocker with proggy flavors.

I enjoy it quite a bit, btw.

That's the set that I also have. Quite good bonus material.

Agree. I'm usually a sucker for most kinds of "proto-prog", but the two Paladin albums always struck me as impressively dire and lame. A bankrupt old man's Santana vs. Traffic and Assagai.

    I agree.

I liked their name, and the covers... nothing memorable about their music. Some kind of "proto hard rock", and you can't be farther from "jazz-Rock" than this.

I just spun both Paladin albums (I have the Music On Vinyl LP reissues) and must say that both contain decent proto prog - so I can't agree with those who state that Paladin is musically worse than any other proto prog bands from the same era. But no jazz rock to be heard. Recommended!
