Kate Bush gets a CBE in the New Years Honours List

Non-Brits may be at a loss - lets just say it is roughly the equivalent of Adrian Belew getting the Medal of Honor.

Pretty prestigious! Well deserved, of course!
The downside of being better than everyone else is that people tend to assume you're pretentious.

Just goes to show how irrelevant these "awards" are
“Pleasure and pain can be experienced simultaneously,” she said, gently massaging my back as we listened to her Coldplay CD.

Are we meant to care what Mark Ellen or David Hepworth think cos it's most probably them who nominated her.

If you don't care, then fine. No need to rain on the parade. Geeesh.

Except it's Kate Bush instead of Adrian Belew, so it's much more important.

Cool, she's a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. She can order people to listen to prog.

Of course, she was already Commander of me.

Very nicely put. I tend to be subjective about this, and the esteem in which I hold KB is a higher honour than any that can be awarded by our corrupt and debased system. Of course, her mileage may vary, so she has my congratulations.
