As years go by my view of the album seems to get better and better. In 1999 I think after Keys To Ascension I think the hard core fan base was looking for more material like Mind Drive while Yes was still trying to acknowledge a huge new fan base it had built with their 80's music. I happen to like both incarnations. Anyway it seems this album straddle the two camps better than just about any other album they did. The longer songs (New Language and Homeworld) are excellent. Many of the shorter pieces such as Nine Voices, The Messenger, Face To Face and It Will Be A Good Day are excellent as well. About the only songs that I struggle with are If Only You Knew and Finally but even those two have become a little better in my mind over time. Is this album a Close To The Edge? or even a 90125? No. But for a band 30 years into a stellar career, this is a very good album.
