Thinking plague 'In this Life' reissue

This was posted on TPs facebook last week:

Dear Plague supporters. FYI, Cuneiform Records will be releasing a remastered CD reissue of Thinking Plague's 1989 CD "In This Life" this September. So, if you've been trying to find an affordable unopened copy, just wait a couple months, if you can. And it will sound better.

Gonna drop some cash on the kickstarter campaign too.

Attention, TPeeps. On August 2nd, Thinking Plague will launch a Kickstarter campaign to fund the recording of our next CD. It will be a 30 day, all-or-nothing campaign. This means that, if our new CD is going to be available in 2016, and be the best sounding TP CD ever, we're going to need your support by the end of August. Please be prepared to give what you can. We thank you in advance.

Great news for those who haven't got it - and I suppose I'll have to check out that "improved sound".

As for the kickstarting of the next album, I sure hope this isn't a primary precondition for its release or anything. There just doesn't seem to be an actual progressive rock audience out there to support such a venture, not when it's about an actual progressive rock band.

It's my personal favorite TP album. I think most fans who like their later material would likely dig this album a lot.

I only have this as a download so I'm in for the disc and will definitely contribute to the Kickstarter fund.

Yup, he'd surely give Udi and Bob D. a proper vroom for their monetary might.

Thanks. I've been really digging In Extremis (thanks Progressive Ears!!!) so I'm looking to expand on my Thinking Plague knowledge.

ITL has vocals by Susanne Lewis, whose approach was quite different from Deborah Perry's and Elaine diFalco's (the later two TP singers respectively) - rawer, more direct and poignant, somewhat less "technical". The music too, while obviously highly refined as such, is more immediate and harsh. Still, this album is seminal - in fact, many would probably suggest it as a runner-up for best progressive rock record in the second half of the 80s. And it did attract some rave reviews on release, mostly by channels outside of the (admittedly then non-existent) "prog world".

I couldnt think of how to manage the vocal difference in my head. Thank you for the words I couldnt write! lol. Totally agree it's one of the finest releases of the later 80s.

Number 1 for me as well, followed by Decline and Fall with In Extremis in third.

Wonder how long Mike & co. are into recording or preparing the upcoming album?

Never heard it, but I'd like to! I have History of Madness and Decline and Fall, both great, especially the latter.

Been stoked about the new one too, with Bill Pohl (Underground Railroad) added as a second guitar player.
