Dude, with all due respect, you can't love prog if you hate jazz. Maybe you hate that free stuff, or the stuff that sounds like a guy is choking a goose for 20 minutes; but the 70s proggers all had a touch of jazz in them. Listen to SW's answer to the question about his appreciation for jazz music. He spells it out fairly clearly.

Haters can hate whatever kind of music they wish to. Hating a style of music is not analogous to hating people.

Clearly Richard Barbieri loves certain kinds of "prog" even if he hates jazz. I can relate to that. I don't hate jazz by any means, but a little of it goes a long way with me.
