From Uriah Heep Gary Thain (already mentioned) but also Trevor Bolder and from Jethro Tull (Glen Cornick already mentioned) but also John Glascock. And from King Crimson (the great late John Wetton already mentioned) but also Boz Burrell.

    Gone but never forgotten.

    How about:
Mohini Dey (recently toured with Marco Minemman)
    Rhonda Smith (Jeff Beck)
    Benjamin Shepard (Alan Holdsworth)

All incredibly over the top talents.

I personally love Bob Drake playing bass - Dave Willey is also a guy I like to listen to -

Steve Lamb - kind of a slapping Percy Jones'ish style, never understood why he isn't more famous.

I still find it hard to believe that David (the guy who started this thread) is dead. I met him several times and he seemed full of life!
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Yeah, it's weird. The first time I met David was before one of Djam Karet's shows. We talked about Kenso! Dang, that was a long time ago...

    Wojtek Pilichowski Band

He is very good, but the music is quite ordinary / predictable.
