^^ All of the above are reasons I pursued a career in finance. I can do music on my own dime and time. That's fine. Music is a great sea of anonymity of which I'm happy to bask in. Yes, there are occasional atolls, but they are few and far between. Turns out my mom and dad were right about a career in music, just as the Central Scrutinizer himself warned.

“I hadn’t heard from Scott in about two and a half years,” says Bicknell. “One day he just showed up in the office and plopped himself down in a chair. And I said to him, ‘What have you been doing?’ And he said, ‘I’ve been painting.’ And I said, ‘Really? Oils or watercolors?’ And he said, ‘No, man. Walls.’ He’d been working as a painter and a decorator.”

That's a great article, I need to bookmark it to give it a proper read later. But yeah, a very telling quote!
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

As FZ once famously said when asked about a career in music - "get a real estate licence". Word

I continue to produce new albums, even as i edge closer toward death with every passing minute. Oh, and also to dance or sit and listen, either way... Thank goodness i have something to remind me to be happy in my old age, eh?

Here is some of what we've been up to. There's more around here somewhere in threads. Also my website is a good entry point for anyone who cares. This is from one of the most recent releases (a week or so ago).

Soundcloud is usually also updated with stuff. I've added quite a few albums there.

Click on the album covers to hear the entire albums (i am album oriented as opposed to singles, per se, if that matters).

However, we have a lot more things (many many more albums - spanning about 50 years or so) available to check out on my actual site.

Peace, love and light operas to everyone!

And the code is a play, a play is a song, a song is a film, a film is a dance...

Definitely fun browsing through the eclectic myriad of material you've got, Kimara!

I ‘almost’ have a new one finished. Every time I think it’s done on the mixer. Then I put it on bandcamp and am unhappy with the output (mostly volumes and fades) My 22 year old daughter was visiting and contributed some vocal exercises to this one. It’s based on a Timi Yuro song called “I apologize”. At first I had Timi samples but traded them in for my daughter’s voices so as not to get sued . Haha. This is one I will get back to when I have some time, because it needs work.

I put a link to this on YT earlier in the thread but....for those who prefer the Bandcampy side of things (I'm one of them ), here it be.

So far, my favorite is Silhouette at dawn. They are all very beautiful. Very mature compositions John. Impressive. Will listen to more as time permits.

I am listening on YT right now. Lovely work, John!
I want to be you when I grow up.

I'm working on my next album. Three tracks are ready and I'm currently working on the opening-track. Actually it is 2 songs, which are connected, so there is no pause between them.

Me too. Hopefully end of summer. I have reservations about most of what's done and I am already three quarter way 2nd Side. Yep. This time it's a virtual 2 sider with all tracks segued or at the least butted together. We will know soon.

I have many times done two separate songs and found that they work so well together that I combine them into one. Makes for a nice change in the progression of a piece.

Well, it's based on the opening 2 tracks of Streetmark - Dry (which was an album I played a lot in the early in the early 80s and well, my life in the 80s is an inspiration for the whole planned album)

I’m taking a summer break from it all. If I come up with sudden ideas I’ll mix up a draft. Come back to a full composition in the winter when I have too much time on my hands. lol. It’s time now to get outside and enjoy the world around me here in Walla Walla lol
