    Thx, John and Rarebird!

Yep.....everything is "in the box" as they say: Superior Drummer for drums, Kontakt for upright bass, Rhodes, and classical guitar, and a dozen Cherry Audio (and other) synths here and there. Only real hardware on this one is live Hammond (A100 through a Leslie 145).

This is a new recording of instrumental songs that I did with a trio called My Oldest Friend.
We were very inspired by King Crimson "Red" and Don Caballero and other prog at the time.
There will be a second album posted in about a week.

Listening now and it's a mighty grand wedge of Progressive Music. Congratulations. I hope you get the listens and watches you deserve. There are so so few places to introduce these types of works. This site is absolutely the best I have found. Others here may know better.

Just started listening now and again I am really enjoying the experience. There's a lot here and I probably won't get through it all tonight but hey it's a start. Look forward to giving the whole piece a spin. Probably on my daily commute tomorrow.
    Yeah. This thread is great.

The "Jazz Upright" preset on an OLD bundle called Kontakt Factory Library. It's easily 10 years old, but I use it on almost everything. Love that sound!

Thank you! Yeah, I've found PE to be a great environment to share this sort of material. It's not been easy to figure it out!

Thanks, I hope you enjoy it. I like listening to it on good headphones.
Yeah this is a great way to share things. And the perfect place to share this project especially!

Walked the last mile home in storm babet this evening with this excellent mathy vibe in my Sony Headphones. Momentable stuff. Trees , leaves etc all raging to the storm and your music. Yeah.

That's awesome! Thank you for giving it a listen. We have another final 7 song album that will be put up within the next few days.
It's good to finally have decent recordings of these songs. I just wish our guitarist was still around to hear it.

Hey thanks! I really appreciate it!

Yep, everything on this record comes from software synths and sample libraries (possibly a hardware synth or two)…..and live Hammond/Leslie.

Who here is still releasing new music? I certainly am.
I don't want to spam/repeat myself but I've just digitally released a prog LP. Working on it was generally super fun, though I went through a lot of ups and downs during the writing/recording process. From rapid flows of ideas filled with joy to depression and sadness to musician's block and frustration. It was one hell of a ride. :P I have high hopes it'll pay off.

Spotted a copy of one of my LPs in the New Arrivals box at Dave's Records in Berkeley.

99% of my music is instrumental, and I do everything in my studio bedroom, but occasionally I'll hire someone online to do vocals

Here is the second and final My Oldest Friend album, well it's 20 minutes, so an ep actually. It's called "Stop"
Lots of odd time instrumental music. A lot shorter songs, but in the same mindset of the "Same Page" album.
