Passed away today after suffering from Dementia for the past two years !
Thunderbirds was part of my childhood....classic TV. Not sure how popular it was outside of the UK ?

    Just heard about it.

Thank you Gerry for Space 1999, for the uber-cool UFO, for Thunderbirds and all the crazy "marionation" stuff! RIP!

Someone should post the hilarious Peter Cook & Dudley Moore Thunderbirds spoof.

His coffin should have a big number 1 painted on both sides (like the Thunderbird vehicles). Also, when they lower his coffin into the Earth, it should be lowered jerkily by several ropes.

Just kidding - he did some great shows. One of my earlier TV memories was watching Fireball XL5. Even Fish was a fan of his later show, Terrahawks.

I don't know about the rest of the US, but I watched Thunderbirds and Fireball XL5 here in Philadelphia in the 60's. Later, I had a model of the ship from Space 1999. I think I still have it somewhere.
