Itís nice to see Voivodís Astronomy Domine get a mention.

The Pink Floyd original is such a monumental song/ production, for me at least that while I donít necessarily prefer Voivodís version, I like it just as much.

What really gets me is how, despite remaining pretty faithful to the Floyd arrangement, it somehow sounds completely if it were one of their own compositions.

Their getting a few of the lyrics wrong only adds to the appeal.

Apologies if Iíve posted something similar earlier on this thread (I havenít checked, but it seems likely)...itís always the first song I think of when talking about good covers.

    Linda Ronstadt - Blue Bayou.

Always seemed like this song was written just for her voice

And the code is a play, a play is a song, a song is a film, a film is a dance...

Joe Cocker seems to have stolen any number of songs that I prefer to the originals, like "The Letter", "With a Little Help From My Friends" and "Delta Lady".

    And then there's...

"And your little sister's immaculate virginity wings away on the bony shoulders of a young horse named George who stole surreptitiously into her geography revision."

    Occasional musical musings on
