    Thick as a brick reissue

    Hello everybody,
I came to see that a new vinyl version of Thick as a brick is available for preorder. It will be shipped on june the 30th. Do you know what reissue is this? I bet it features Steven Wilson's new mix but Amazon gives no info about the cover (a remake of the old good cover or not?) and I was not able to find anything about it online: http://www.amazon.it/Thick-As-Brick-...a+brick+vinile

    Cheers

It seems to be a full reprint with the original artwork:

"Thick as a Brickis the fifth studio album by Jethro Tull, originally released in 1972 and was deliberately crafted in the style of aconcept album. The original packaging was designed like a fold-out newspaper, and claims the album to be a musical adaptation of anepic poemby an 8-year-old genius, though the lyrics were actually written by the band'sfrontman,Ian Anderson.Rolling Stonemagazine called Thick as a Brickas "one of rock's most sophisticated and ground-breaking products".Rhino will be reissuing this album on 180gm vinyl with it's original artwork."

Do you happen to know anything about it?

For those who're interested in this, the new vinyl version (Crysalis 0825646139507) does NOT have the newspaper cover. It seems to have a booklet which will likely reproduce the newspaper, though I don't know in which format.

These are the photos of the record I just got today. Didn't open it yet because (thank you Amazon.com) I thought it came with the newspaper cover and I'm still thinking whether to take it or ship it back.

I bought the 2012 (40th Anniversary) release. I wonder how this could sound any different. The missing newspaper cover is probably the only difference, that and mine also includes "Thick As A Brick 2.

I don't think they'll sound different at all, it's the same mix. The newspaper is missing but there's a squared booklet in lucid paper (like a CD booklet) with what seems to me to be the whole newspaper plus some more trivia. I guess this is a smaller version of the booklet published with the boxset 2-3 years ago.

That's the one I have. It's the Steven Wilson mix in 180 gram vinyl. I think I'll spin it this afternoon while the wife is out having coffee with her friends.

I listened to it last night, several times, at both high and low volume. I must admit it sounds great! Also the extended booklet is well-made, though the lucid paper is not as sexy as the old newspaper one, but will surely resist better to the time passing.

Agreed, my friend. I just downloaded A Passion Play from HD Tracks in 96kHz/24bit FLAC. I've been expanding my hi-rez downloads recently.
