For those in the Twitter universe..

never thought i'd ever join but i did. interesting experience - plenty of topics to choose from music related or otherwise. basically not as irrelevant as i thought it was.
anyway, i'm a bit confused on exactly how it works. main question - who sees my tweets if i have no followers yet (i actually have 6 after a week but hypothetically speaking). the reason i ask is because a few times people have favorited or retweeted my tweet who were not following me or who i was not following or mentioning. so does everybodies tweets end up in some public bucket somewhere that everyone else can look at? i don't believe i've received one tweet from someone who i wasn't following myself so how are other people seeing my tweets?

It's the hashtags that will get you noticed beyond your followers. Also, if you engage with anyone, that will show up to them and their followers as well. And it spirals from there.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

when i first started though i didn't know enough to use # or @ references on my own in my tweets (i do now though). however, to start me off, Twitter gave a starting point using #MyFirstTweet as a mention which is what i used. so maybe that did it.

Unless your account is private (which you can control under settings), anyone can see your tweets - even people who aren't on Twitter, so keep this in mind.

    What's your handle? I'm @scottbails13

Unfortunately, I can't follow back for a while, as I'm up against Twitter's following limit.

You can only follow 2,000 accounts, unless your follower count is within some ratio which they don't reveal. My follower count is around 1500, so it must be above that.

@SteveCameraGuy which you might be able to guess i use mostly for posting my photos - an endeavor that hasn't been as successful as i would like (couple of faves here and there). still enjoy lurking though. and my followers went from 6 to 10 in one day - not bad.
