Let him perform by all means, but just rename it to a music festival. If you're going to use a genre label, the label has to actually mean something.

Folk and Jazz festivals always seem to add rock/pop artists to the bill to appeal to wider audiences. Led Zeppelin played the Newport Jazz Festival in '69.

They usually held this event down on the water in front of Fort Adams . . . at least that's where it was when we attended.
