    Robert Wyatt-Richard Sinclair-Gary Windo-Dave MacRae-Archival live session-Out now!

Just read that there's a live session out titled"One Night Stand" by WMWS, a short lived ensemble, recorded April 14, 1973.Personnel are, Robert Wyatt, Richard Sinclair( substituting for regular bassist Ron Mathewson),Gary Windo and Dave MacRae.Apparently this release was one of Michael King's last efforts. The cd consists of one 48 minute improv.

    I'm in.

we'll have it. we have to wait for the label's US distributor gets it, in order to have it for a reasonable price.

BTW - music is really good. Sound is a very decent 1971 audience tape, worked on well by Mike King, but it isn't a lost sonic treasure. Just FYI.

Thanks for the assessment Steve... was wondering how it sounded. A good audience tape will work just fine.

Autobuy for me, but I wonder musical-wise,
What are the contents? structured songs? matching mole material? or complete improv?
(Doesnt really matter, will buy it anyway, just curious)

Does Sinclair sing on this? Or just Wyatt? Or...?

    $14.99 doesn't seem so bad.

Per the links in the OP, a single 48-minute improv, titled "A Performance Of Improvised Music Making."

    Ah, thanks!
For some reason I thought the links were for vendors so did not check them out...

I'm guessing then that Sinclair doesn't sing.

I'm guessing probably not, but perhaps Wyatt does his echoplex-vocal thing, or Sinclair could even fit in a bit of his wordless burbling.

    EDIT: Or birdless wurbling.

Not bad at all.My wanting to wait until a domestic vendor stocks this has nothing to do with price.I'd rather wait and have the cd mailed to me from Maryland(when Wayside stocks it:i'm in NYC) rather than from England or Sweden, where(afaik), Gonzo mails its cds from.

Really looking forward to hearing this, a lost treasure, certainly to me anyway. Liked the WMWM pieces which appeared on the Windo Cuneiform album, and the inclusion of Sinclair makes it even better.

After a couple of drinks or whatever, either one will do!

For something which was supposedly released on 5th May it sure is taking its time reach Amazon UK (I won't buy directly from `Gonzo'). Has anybody actually got any evidence that this thing is even back from the factory yet ?

I've heard it. Mike King played his final master of it for me when he came down to visit me for the final time last year

What do you want to know? It's pretty much what you would expect based on what has been discussed above. It's a improvisation and the sound is more than listenable and much, much less than professional.
