Work on the new echolyn album continues. Chris completed the piano tracks for three new songs this past weekend. Maybe you saw this...

There are a few other clips on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/echolynband/

Amityville, On We Blur, Radio Punk, and Selbyville are a few of the working titles at this point.

    Be prepared...

    Sounds so good!

Rise Twain is great. Not echolyn, but there are plenty of echolyn like moments. Brett’s guitar work is very identifiable.

Thanks for posting those Chad. Really looking forward to some new Echolyn!

Hutch: "Rush is variety, Bitch! Rule number one: in my van, its Rush! All Rush, all the time...no exceptions."

I wish I could get into it more. I love Brett's voice and playing, but I can't understand a word that J.D. Beck sings!

I'm going to see Rise Twain with District 97 in April. I sampled a few tracks and had much the same response about Beck; really didn't understand why he was singing with both Brett and Ray on the stage. I'm going to wait until I see them to make a final judgment, but what I heard didn't get me terribly excited.

Of course the last few Echolyn albums haven't exactly done if for me either.

I know what you mean. The Window Album struck me as a bit like The Beatles' White Album - the sound of a band trying to figure out what to do next. Although Echolyn's approach turned out to be the opposite of The Beatles: Rather than completely all over the place like the White Album, the Window Album was too unified, with all the songs having roughly the same tempo and the same sort of focus on vocals and lyrics, with few extended instrumental sections. I liked I Heard You Listening a bit more, and it had a bit more variety, but I still don't think it was their best work.

Time for some live echolyn. Re visit Progstock? Anything will do.

They're not close to any live performances at this point.

    What's up with Echolyn?

I’m hoping the boys do some live shows and maybe a live album. I’d love to hear Island & Warjazz played live!
Secret wish to hear; Accumulated Blur. Damn, I love that song!

Is Tom still in the band? I thought I heard he was out.

Tom & Paul Ramsey dropped out. Jordan Perlson is now the drummer.

The Rise Twain project reminds me a bit of Always Almost, JD Beck sounds almost Ray-like at times with his vocal delivery.
I like it quite a bit actually.

I bought Rise Twain unaware of the connection to Echolyn. It immediately appealed to me and now i know why. Looking forward to new Echolyn. One of my favorite bands.
