Okay, for the Irish in Ireland & the UK Mick is a major insult used by the British!
If a people don't use a term for themselves then you can be sure it's an insult.
The equivalent of yank and aussie is paddy not mick.

Trust you to take offence. You asked me to explain the term, so I did. If you already thought you knew what the term meant, why ask, unless you did so to provoke an argument?
