Christina Booth of Magenta fame has just released her solo album called: "The Light" and is an absolutely gorgeous album showcasing her beautiful voice accompanied by some outstanding musicians:
Andy Tillison of The Tangent (Hammond Organ)
John Mitchell of "It Bites" (Guitar, Vocals)
Theo Travis of "The Tangent, Gong, Curfew" (Sax, Flute)
Andy Edwards of "Robert Plant" (Drums)
Dan Nelson of "Godsticks" (Fretless Bass)
Chris Fry of "Magenta" (Guitar)
Robert Reed of "Cyan, Magenta" (Keyboards, Bass, Guitar)
Fran Murphy - Christina's sister provides backing vocals
Mixed and Produced by Robert Reed who wraps this all up in a sonically perfect recording.
A couple of videos have been officially released including The Light:

and the very personal "Disappeared" which is about Christina's mother and her battle with Alzheimer's. I find it hard to get through this without getting emotional and I can only imagine how hard it is for her to perform it:

The overall feel of the album to me is that of a smokey jazz lounge which the video "Disappeared" depicts. One of my favorite tracks is "When The Darkness Falls" which could very easily be a great James Bond movie opening. There was no official video for this track so i put together one of my own using images from the video "Disappeared":

I'm simply amazed at the creative output of the Magenta team and "The Light" is no exception. Very highly recommended!
