Franck Dervieux, Contraction, Morse Code, Opus-5, Maneige, Et Cetera, Bregent, Conventum, Guillotine, Pollen, Octobre, L'Engoulevent, Le Temps, Seguin, L'Orchestre Sympathique, ExCubus, Sloche, Contrevent, Quatre Guitaristes de L'Apocalypso Bar [blah-blah] - these were all outstanding Quebecois bands, but I suppose they aren't really "lesser known" anymore. Not with "prog" fans, that is.
Later stuff like Miriodor, Interference Sardines, Dagmähr, DoMakeSayThink, Visible Wind (at least their Narcissus), Pangee, Rouge Ciel, Ere G, Nathan Mahl (who actually started out in the early 80s) - all good.
