Listening to Drama and wondered whether anyone had insights into the Uk pressings. The very first brand new album I bought was Drama. The runout groove on side one is pressed "Strawberry" and scratched "W-6" then "K 50736 A12" and side 2 "W-16 K50736 B11".The runout groove on side one is a bit wider than on side two being about 1cm wide. In looking at other vinyl in recordshops they are all the same (although not all A12/B11 of course).
A while ago I picked up an A1/B1 UK pressing. The runout groove is much wider. There is no "W-6/16" scratch but there is "SNA" scrathed on both runout grooves. My ears are not good enough (since Ozzy Osbourne at the Glasgow Apollo) to pick up any sonic differences.
Not trying to be pedantic, just always wondered.
On a slightly different note I raise this now as I was looking again at Drama in a record shop this morning. Next to me were a young couple flicking through the vinyl. The girl picked up "Tarkus" and showed it to her boyfriend saying "check out the cool cover". She inspected the album and said, "Emerson Lake and Palmer... I've no idea who they are". I pondered whether at this point as a member of PE any response from me was required. I decided I didn't want to come across as an arsehole that early on a Saturday morning and just left it.
