I was going to respond to this comment, but I don't want to hijack the thread. So for once, I'm going with my better judgement, and just not saying anything.

A year or two back, Kanye West did a song, Power, built around a sample of the riff from KC's 21st Century Schizoid Man - its not as bad as it sounds actually.

Oh! I'm fond of prog rock, but I like and disco music as well...
Here are the amasing disc-prog things:

Banco "Capolinea" - the whole album of smashing live mix of dico-funk-prog!
Morse Code - Cocktail - good disco mix
Abedul "Nostoros" 1979 Spanish band, though not mix but fusion of disco-prog.
Minimum Vital - Esprit d'amor - simply great dance-prog song!

Anyone remember the "Yes Remixes" album from 2003?

Yikes. I had blocked that out of my mind.

I have it "just for the collection" but I bought it out of a bargain bin. Which is the only way that thing should be bought.

That's very similar to Mark Twain's oft-cited description of Wagner's music. (Which he apparently never actually said)

They later cloned it with “Picadilly [sic] Circus.” But “Cocktail” is better. Here, compare for yourself:

I remember having seen in the late 70s a disco album containing entirely covers of Pink Floyd songs. Can't remember the title or band name either, just that they were French.

See post #8. That group included members of Magma.

Back in the '80s, I ran a record store - we sold a ton of this Michael Jackson/Yes mashup to DJs:

Never heard that one before, but it works surprisingly well.

I must admit the first thing that came to mind when I saw this thread was the Yes remixes CD from Virgil Howe. I bought it but I have not played it in ages.

I like to think I am open to the concept of such remixes, remakes and re imaginings, I will always give them a try. Granted not all of them work though.
I only clicked on it because I thought it was going to be something more interesting...
