It's just the Paris 1979 DVD. There was a long thread here when it was released about 2/3 years ago.

Oh, I have it at home...

I can't imlagine this being a Thompson/Siebenberg/Helliwel project that was mentionned, though

    I'll search for the thread.

    EDIT: didn't find it.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

For those with Facebook access (this is a long text by Hodgson expressing his disappointment with the DVD, too long to copy here I think) -

(Note: Since both Helliwell and Siebenberg are on the upcoming Supertramp tour, I guess they are no longer in conflict with Davies over this, as Hodgson suggested they were - although I haven't heard of Davies officially disowning the DVD)

what is "Yes"? and who is John Andarsen?

    NP: Dushanbe's greatest hits
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

    thanks, Aymeric

Apparently I totally missed out on that issue.

And seeing the date it was posted on fb, it's also logical that we could not find this "song" on PE3.0, since it was born a few months later

ps: I'll view the DVD again, but I don't remember it being scandalous (though I didn't think it was all that fantastic either). At least, not the way Hodgson seems to think it is.

Apparently, Hodgson mostly takes exception with the conspicuous lack of songwriters' credits. He does also imply that quality is lacking somewhat, but apart from several songs having no visual counterpart (just still photos with music playing - presumably while film reels were being changed), I find it really excellent.

Probably because they're not performing your work.

Why did Jon Anderson leave yes...you mean the 1st time, the 2nd time, or the 3rd time?

He effectively left 4 times: in early 1980, after the Big Generator tour and then in 2004... only to re-join in late 2007 for the 2008 tour and his final departure, and the only one not of his own making.

While I was astrally projecting myself last night, I ran into Jon. I asked him flat out why he left Yes, and he told me that he and Chris's Chakra's were out of alignment with the holy earth mother and that it was just not possible for them to exist on the same spiritual plane as they have very different connections to the one. I'm paraphrasing, of course, since he used the word "peeps" multiple times.........

No, on the Philly DVD they use Young Person's Guide To The Orchestra.

You all are thinking of the 77 tour.

This deserves its own sticky, or at least someone's sig line.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

They used Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra, into Close Encounters, then into Siberian, on the '78 & '79 tours (at least when I saw them) (In '80 they used the same intro music and went into "Does it Really Happen?")

I don't have the Philly DVD but assume this clip is from it:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cS3UFBRljYw

    That's the Close Encounters intro.

'77 tour used Firebird Suite into Parallels (as you can hear on the Yesshows album) You can hear it here:

Had you left out the part about astrally projecting, I would have believed you.

And suddenly this pops in my mind:

Alas I couldn't find the title track as a seperate track.
