Thread: Lp with one strong side, other poo

Lp with one strong side, other poo

    I cannot think of many.
I think this is because band/engineer would readily recognize & agree on the weaker tracks and it would be ludicrous to line them all up together on the lp.

Only one I can some up with right now:
SIMPLE MINDS "Sparkle In The Rain" (side one is okay)

    Can't agree with that one

    Anne Clark - Changing places
I like the side with David Harrow, but I'm not that fond of the side with Vini Reilly.

I do. I love them (well, MOST of them) more than IAGDV.

The Bee Gees - Spirits Having Flown.
Side One is terrific, Side Two is boring, though the closing track, "Till", is at least a bit different.

    The Beatles - Abbey Road.
On Side One the only song that does anything for me at all is I Want You (She's So Heavy).

I think people need to state WHICH side is good and which is crap! You may think it's obvious, but there is certain to be someone who has the opposite view!

I like the short songs on side one just as well.

Pink Floyd Meddle: Side one opens with the strong One of These Days but the rest of the side are sleepers while side 2 is the wonderful Echoes.

We all have our own opinions but Abbey Road is solid from cover to cover( OK.. not so much Maxwell's Silver Hammer). Following I Want You with Here Comes The Sun is genius imo....

    COMPLETELY disagree.
I'll take Meddle over ANY other Pink Floyd album.

I'm not a huge fan of "Eruption" on Side 2 of Focus' "Moving Waves."

"Answer the damned phone, Orfeus!" - Euridice.

Todd Rundgren, "Initiation." Side one is some brilliant songwriting. Side two is the flatulant "A Treatise on Cosmic Fire."
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.

Disagree on that one! I'm guessing you are referring to side 2 but Ilike the first two songs on side 1 and I usually skip Winning.

It's a bit of a wank, isn't it? but it has its moments. I much prefer side 1, especially the softer more melodic songs.

The Beach Boys - Carl & the Passions: So Tough

Four songs per side, but it's only the last three on side 2 that make it worth listening to.
