Colin Scot and Friends ??? (Impressive list of friends but back in the day this was an immense disappointment for me cos I was expecting prog, not singersongwriter/folkypop. I have the lp and have not played in decades, but I think if I were to play it today I would be much more open to it.)

    Fripp & Eno - yes

    Fripp -Exposure - no

    " I Advance Masked" -yes

disc 3 George Harrison "All Things Must Pass" - yes (most would disagree with me though)

Jeff Wayne War of Worlds - yes

The Best was a truly horrible idea and the result was embarrassing! (my opinion of course)

    Squackett - Yes
Three (Emerson, Berry, Palmer) - No
    Transatlantic - Yes

One that should have happened: Steve Howe/Annie Haslam - they did two songs together (Turn of the Century and Lily's in the Field)

    Nice thread! Here I go...

Ron Geesin & Pink Floyd: yes, but Ron Geesin & Roger Waters: no
Jon Anderson & Vangelis: yes; Jon Anderson & Kitaro: yes; Anderson & Wakeman: yes
GTR: yes (many, including themselves, would disagree though); Squackett: absolutely yes!; Conspiracy (Squire & Sherwood): no
Greg Lake & Gary Moore: yes; Asia & Greg Lake: yes (but obviously they were not happy themselves)
Frank Zappa & John Lennon: NOOOO!!!
Emerson, Lake & Powell: yes!; Emerson, Berry & Palmer: no
Metallica & San Francisco Symphony: no!; Metallica & Lou Reed: no! Metallica & Lang Lang: no!
Queen & David Bowie: yes; Queen & George Michael: yes
    Queen & Paul Rodgers: no;
Queen & Adam Lambert: NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! (maybe the worst collaboration of all time IMO)
The Doors & Ian Astbury: yes!
Mike Keneally & Andy Partridge: yes (wonderful result, though in the end it was basically just MK)
Bozzio Levin Stevens: absolutely yes! (what an awesome trio); Levin Torn White: no; Levin Minnemann Rudess: no
Peter Hammill & Gary Lucas: yes (one of the most succesful collaborations IMO)

...well, that's it by now.... I'm sure there are many other interesting collaborations, good and bad...

What do you think of these collaborations? I'm not sure...
    Zappa & Beefheart
The Black Crowes & Jimmy Page
    SuperHeavy (Mick Jagger et al)

    Some that work for me
    Eno/Wobble, Spinner
    Kaada/Patton, Romances
    Cornwell/Williams, Nosferatu
    Mike Batt/LSO, Schizophonia
Mike Batt /LSO, Hunting of The Snark
Mike Batt & Friends, Tarot Suite
    Rick Wakeman/Roger Daltrey/English Rock Ensemble/NPO, Lisztomania
Roger Waters: The Wall, Live in Berlin
Panixsphere (Some of Cardiacs and Some of Levitation, live only supergroup, that I was lucky enough to see live back in the day)

Thanks for a great thread idea, not many threads make me go to the shelves to pull out an armful of vinyl for immediate consumption. :-)

Neil Young & Booker T & The MGs Yes, a strange combo. I have a live Toronto tape. As I seem to recall, sounds like Young with organ.

    .................
Holdsworth & pianist Gordon Beck two lps. The first was a major disappointment for me since its not his usual rockfusion, but jazzbo

Holdsworth also did "Heavy Machinery" with the two Johanssons.
