Steven Wilson/Blackfield/Porcupine Tree - somewhat similar songs?

Listening to the new Steven Wilson album this week and reading the HCE thread got me thinking about songs from his catalog which have similar elements. Some of these examples are just similar intros, others are more obvious:

Hand Cannot Erase = Oxygen (Blackfield)
Transience = Lips of Ashes (Porcupine Tree)
Home Invasion - Mother and Child Divided (Porcupine Tree)
Glass Arm Shattering - Dark Matter (Porcupine Tree both)

Would be curious to hear of other examples....

Hand Cannot Erase = I Drive The Hearse (more for me) every acoustic open chorded dynamic gear shift reminds me of Mellontron Scratch etc...but i mean, you're going to have some intervalic crossovers with the same writer...people gave me shit for saying there're echoes of all his work in the new one.

I'll have to listen to H.C.E. a few times before comparing the songs with Wilson's previous work. However I have noted that there are certain harmonic progressions that he seems especially fond of. The opening bars of The Blind House (PT - The Incident), The Breakup For Real (No-man - Together We're Stranger) and Home In Negative (SW solo, from the Grace For Drowning sessions) all have this particular chord progression.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. Rock composers use common progressions lie G->C->D again and again in different songs, so Wilson is entitled to use his own special trademark progression in more than one song.

Just to clarify, this was an observation, not a criticism.

...and that's how I interpreted it - an observation.
