I love all their material. Someone posted a song from "Droga", their previous album. It's a little more in the avant garde style than this one. The early recordings are more "jammy" eastern influenced music. A lot features a female vocalist.

I found some unauthorized, complete camples ( )of Droga and Surpassing All Kings so I'll check those out. But I also just downloaded Fitful Slumber from Bandcamp, as it sounded very good.

    It was me Yves!.
I'm having a good time listening to their bandcamp: really good stuff, every record has its own personality and mood and as i wrote , definitely my "cup of tea".

    Take a ride: http://vespero.bandcamp.com
    Enjoy JKL2000!.

    Thanks Yves for the H.U.!

You are most welcome. I will be checking out some Ole Lukkoye over the weekend. That's what this site should be all about!

I have six or seven Ole Lukkoye CD's they are very cool, their early stuff is pretty raw, and ethnic but very cool stuff. I will list the CD's I have by them tomorrow, but since their stuff might be very hard to find in the USA, I am open to cdr trades...

    Here is their website: http://www.olelukkoye.ru/eng/indexeng.htm

I have all the Vespero studio CDs to date (6 of 'em so far - and this will be their 7th). I saw the announcement of the new album from RAIG, and plan on picking it up as soon as I see one for sale here in the States. Just a superb band all around. Spyros already summarized the group perfectly. Ozric meets space rock meets progressive rock.

The label messed up the tags on the MP3 files - they have the label name as the band name, and the band name doesn't even appear. Oops! Small thing but weird.

For some reason R.A.I.G. downloads always appear that way. Easy to fix.

"Fitful Slumber" CD arrived this afternoon. Good timing. Great music for an otherwise rough day. Love the voicing, the timbres, the contrast of bright and heavy. Swell with coffee too.

It's why I don't post much here or connect with so-called prog rockers, these guys are an awesome band and they are over-looked by the mainsteam proggers, yet in the other forum, the Motley Crue thread is 6 pages long and thriving.. (idiots)

As the saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."
Or maybe this doesn't appeal to some. The album concept is cool, universal ...and challenging. Well met by Vespero, IMO.

We've made it to page 2, thus making this an "official" thread!

I'm glad to see some momentum building for this band on this site.

You win, Yves! This is great stuff. Just downloaded it. Man, what a difference these days, if you live in Canada when it comes to ordering CDs. The exchange rate and postage has become killer. The download cost me $10. To buy the CD (which I still usually like to do) ...almost $30. Sorry Cds, can't do it this time.

I gave up on ordering for that reason, and the fact that I was running out of room to keep all the discs.

Check out this band's back catalogue now, Neil.

I am bumping this thread because my iPod kicked up a track from this record yesterday, prompting me to play the whole thing on my walk home. This album sounded even better yesterday then when I first got it!

I need to give this one another spin. I've played it a handful of times, and like what I've heard.

....Haha! I did visit their Bandcamp page, Professor Eves. I wasn't as impressed, as I am with this one. Homework done.

Droga is also an excellent record, in a similar vein. I still need to get the one they released before it (name eludes me as I post this) which I am told is very solid.

Subkraut: U-Boats Willkommen Hier. Excellent, all the way through and one of the best albums of 2012.

Hello, just got the new Vespero (Fitful) CD, Greg at Symphonic has it!

ALSO, you can check this out on Bandcamp, but there is another CD by a band named Maat Lander that has some Vespero members in it, it is REALLY awesome and Greg has it as well!

    cheers!
