He also had a string of solo albums in the mid 70's (ie way before he was on General Hospital). In fact, his first solo album charted on the Billboard Top 200, and was on it's way to being a hit when rumors broke that his record company was paying people to buy the album. That was back before he learned how to talk with an American accent.
