He should have stuck with the blue shirt.

I wondered whether or not this might be coming. I saw the other day that he'd had a problem with chest pains.

    Dangit.
Hired on to work for Mr. Bill Cox, a-fixin' lawn mowers and what-not, since 1964.

He's left a great legacy, one to be proud of and enjoyed for generations to come.

Very sad to hear this. Maybe we should all play some Spock's Beard today. Anyway, I posted on the other thread too. RIP Leonard Nimoy.

I very much enjoyed his role in the recent Star Trek movie and of course, all the original series I love so much

I'm sad for his family to have to deal with this grief

I know he will rest in peace until the coming resurrection, then I will get to meet him and express my appreciation for his work in person
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Besides Star Trek, I always loved his performance in the 1977 Invasion of the body Snatchers.

    RIP Spock

There were two Spocks - I liked the clean-shaven one more.

Just posted this on the other thread:

Very sad news indeed...another giant icon gone. Did anyone ever see the 1965 Man from Uncle episode that has both William Shatner and Nimoy in it? I'm wondering if Gene Roddenberry saw this and said to himself, "Wow these two guys have some great chemistry together?" Nimoy plays a Russian spy in it! Classic 60's Spy-fi! No more Vulcan cliches, just SHALOM
Day dawns dark...it now numbers infinity.

The New York Times gave 20% of its front page to Nimoy's obit in todays paper. It continues for another 80% of a page in another section. In addition theres a very nice essay in the Art section. This type of space in this paper is usually reserved for heads of state and the very influential. Not that Nimoy needs validation , but this reflects the place of esteem he and his character held in the American consciousness. Its a small but heartening comfort to see my personal sense of loss echoed , not only by the usually staid NY Times but the fine people here .

I had that album too but someone lifted it from my collection about 10 years ago.

Placement of posts is not based on popularity. Nimoy wasn't even a musician! (His recordings prove it)

Same for Los Angeles Times, except Nimoy got an entire second page (three large pix included), plus the requisite article on Spock and Trek-related stuff in the Times' Calendar (Art/Music/Film) section.
