In all truth, assuming the source material isn't just re-packaged bootlegs...that isn't a bad price at all. And this is end of February...I'd wager by May this will have dropped a fair bit more.

I'm not 100% sure this is one I'd get (waiting to see more particulars of the shows, setlists, and source quality), but I do wish the band well.
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

I for one am pretty excited at the prospect of this... beyond that it would be foolish to criticize, not knowing any real details of the release yet! But I am totally up for ANY archival material they decide to release. It's about time!

I've already pre-ordered on Amazon. I thought that it might be priced high, over $100 or so, but at just shy of $90, and with the possibility of the price dropping before the May release, for me it was a no-brainer to get this...

Yes, the setlists may be similar from show to show, but to hear the band of this era in full flight, figuring things out, breaking in a new drummer, there's no reason for me *not* to get this set...

    Less than $90 on Amazon.com: http://amzn.to/1LSLxem

And a 2-disc version for those who think this is overkill.

    Henry,

Do you know if they're doing this as a direct result of seeing how well the KC tour box sets have sold?
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

Have any of these shows surfaced as boots? I'm curious about the sound quality here...........

King Crimson have done a great job with mining their archives, but one thing I dislike is making their box sets limited editions.

No, I don't know, but I would be surprised if King Crimson's approach and experience haven't influenced Yes, but then there are several acts which have taken a similar approach.

We don't yet know what the 7 shows are. The only one confirmed, 31 Oct, is not known as a boot. There's a report that I think reliable that 1 Nov is also included: that also is not known as a boot, but is the source for "Roundabout" on Yessongs.

Something odd going on at Amazon (US) at the moment. Like others, I added this to my shopping cart, but when I looked at the cart it tells me that I have in fact added it from some guy's wishlist.

Not wanting to buy a gift for a stranger, I deleted it from the cart and tried again. Same thing.

I'm wondering if the link in the thread here goes to a dummy-entry rather than an official listing of the set. In which case, is the set official??

Maybe worth checking if you've also done this.

Does it matter that this waste of time is what makes a life for you?

^ It's definitely an official listing for the album. I get the same effect with the earlier Amazon link given: that's what can happen when you cut'n'paste Amazon links. The link I gave, http://amzn.to/1LSLxem , works fine.

Considering how little information is in that listing, I'd say that it's just a place-holder until more information is released. I'd hold off on ordering for a while.

No it doesn't: has exactly the same result.

I think I'll be holding off.

"I have lots of boots already" should never be a reason to not buy an official release, least not if we want bands to ever bother doing official releases.

    Henry
My justification of ROIO has always been because of bands like Yes and Floyd.. open the vaults... and yes I have tons of recordings that I paid top dollar multiple times... first viynl.. then 8 track.. then cassette.. then CD.... give me a break with that line of questioning.. I've spent a fortune on my collection..

I consider my Amazon order a placeholder

It's easily cancelled if need be, has a price guarantee, and I will sleep better tonight knowing I've got an order in

I get something similar - alongside my address and my sister's address is the name of someone I've never heard of in Columbia (initials MS) saying it's from his wishlist!

Weird glitch, though I guess as long as you tick your address at the checkout stage, it'll be fine.

    I have these shows from 1972: 1/21; 3/10, 15, 16, 17; 8/13, 14, 16; 9/2, 4, 10, 25; 10/30; 11/11. Many have excellent sound and most are whole shows. They're out there.
After throwing that out there, I'm still going to hit the auto-buy button on this one. Even if they are some/all of the same shows I have, I'm sure the quality will be upgraded and,
well, I'm a fanboy. There I said it. Under a hundred bucks is a great deal.

That order glitch appears to be resolved via Bondegezou's link.

I was looking at my old trade list, I didn't have any of these rated "excellent"

From memory I suppose that Merriweather 8/13 and esp Duke 11/11 were the better ones but I'm not expecting cleaned up audies, I'm presuming these will be soundboards

Whoops my bad! Please use Henry's link or you might end up buying a copy for me (not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Btw a nice photo has been added to the Amazon listing.

Love classic Yes--one of my two favs of all time---will probably get it---will wait to see what is actually on it and how much it varies show to show. More into the Tales and Relayer tours if they should ever be released.

They won't be, if this doesn't sell.
