    New GY!BE album 3/31/15

Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress. Go to Constellation records site for all the info and an 8-minute excerpt of a new track. Didn't know anything was up with these guys/gals, but I'll take it.

Oh, good! I hope that means there will be a tour, too.

Edit ... I just saw the dates on the linked page. Alas, no U.S. dates -- yet.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

Sounds pretty good, a bit more ambient in places (if that makes sense) and I was surprised to hear a guitar solo!

Okay, so I've just had my first listen. Unfortunately I couldn't place the guitar solo. If someone could direct me towards it, that'd be great.

Anyway, I miss the field recordings. I loved the whole narrative of utter desolation with crazed whacked-out nutjobs on F#A# and Antennas to Heaven. The sense that some form of apocalypse was occurring due to the greed of western capitalism. I know this might seem naive and it is, to an extent. But still, I miss a form of narrative occurring through these recordings ebbing and flowing with the music.

That said, I'm glad they've grow out of the long building crescendos. As excellent as they were, I'm sure it would have gotten tiresome by now.

What I meant by solo was a definite lead bit of guitar with some form of melody. It's definitely not a typical "solo", I'll try and find a ref for what I mean later!

Edit: I guess (having not listened again), it could've been a distorted violin solo....I'll find out.

the 2 middle tracks I don't imagine ever listening to again.

I'm a lot more enticed by the Nordic Giants debut album coming in a few weeks.

I miss the field recordings as well. But, I do really liek the album. Lamb's Breath is kinda meh but the rest is quite great and it really flows so well, it can almost be just 1 long piece

Heh, different strokes...Lamb's Breath is one of the high points for me. I love their take on drones. I'm still taking in the album but so far I do like it. Maybe a slight notch below 'Allelujah' in terms of my listening preferences but still quite a great little album.
