I was chatting with a guy at the local bar after work last week, and we talked for hours about music. The next time I saw him, he explained that he has been digitizing his huge LP collection, and he thought I might like to check out some of them, so he gave me a USB stick with a bunch of sample albums to check out!. He said he tried not to include bands that he remembered I had mentioned in our discussion. Pretty cool guy!
Popped it in this morning and here's what is on it. Most of them are just "Side one" and "Side two" .wav files as opposed to individual tracks but that's okay as I am a full-album kinda guy anyway. Some interesting titles here.
Amon Duul II - Made In Germany/Only Human
Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come - Journey
Barclay James Harvest - Live
Brian Eno - Eno Box II: Vocals
David Byrne - Music For The Knee Plays
Embryo - Rocksession
Family - Bandstand
Gentle Giant - In A Glass House (the only title I already own)
Jah Wobble Holger Czukay + The Edge - Snake Charmer
Jah Wobble's Invaders of the Heart - Rising Above Bedlam
Jane - Edge Of Madness
Julian Cope - assorted tracks
Keith Emerson - Honky
Kevin Ayers, John Cale, Eno, Nico - June 1, 1974
Manfred Mann's Earth Band - The Good Earth
Patrick O'Hearn - Between Two Worlds
Synergy - Games
Toyah and Fripp - The Lady And The Tiger
Triumvirat - Old Lovers Die Hard
... feel free to comment on any of these titles as it's going to take me a while to go through them all. The Amon Duul II albums are very weak (I have their first five and love them), but I'm loving the Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come album. That's as far as I've made it!
