Necromonkey - Show me where it hertz, again and again.

    Good morning,

Things are moving forward with the recording of our fourth album.

So far we have recorded three tracks ( 2 10 minutes one and one 6 minute one).

We have a couple more to get cracking on but hope to have everything recorded by the 2nd or 3rd of March.

So we are hoping for a late April or early May release.

Here is the humble beginnings of Asshole vote (Hz style)

CR-78 and the M4000D digital Mellotron using Wilcos feedback guitar tapes.

Take care and Ill be updating with more session videos as we go along.

// Mattias (all sorts and inbetweens)

I spun the first 5 tracks on the s/t Necromonkey for the first time last night on Jizzify.....

OH MY LOOOORD. How did I miss this stuff? If you are into SOUND and TEXTURE, this is a must hear. But of course always extremely musical, rhythmic, and very melodic. Every nano-second has extreme thought and detail - nothing was glossed over - in this respect it is similar to Bob Drake's solo music, at least IMO.

Gonna order both of these albums (if they are still available on disc).

Udester - have you heard this music? I think you would absolutely dig this in a big way.

Hey Frankie - get the Live at Pianos, NYC disc too! Raw, live, and very different, with some unreleased material!

I intentionally went into their ProgDay set last year with no knowledge of their tunes...came out with everything I could buy at their table. The albums have held up remarkably well to repeat listens; while I do love Necroplex, I think their last one A Glimpse of Possible Endings is my favorite thus far. True blue atmospheric and progressive music.

Glimpse is quickly scaling toward the top of my 'all-time favorite albums' list. It's one piece of continuous music, basically, and it flows more like a good film than a record.

Definitely one of my favorite progressive albums of...well, quite a long time, to be honest.

In addition to Radiohead, I hear moments that remind me of the finest bits that Chroma Key and/or Rashomon have conjured up as well. And yes...it flows like a single piece of work.

The ones I didn't buy directly at ProgDay came from the man directly, yep

BTW don't forget to pick up Walrus as well...to my ears it is kind of the proto-Necromonkey:

I ordered a used copy of the 2nd album from Clamazon.....haven't heard from Mr Roth-Handle....maybe the mellotron ate him? I will order the 1st disc though and the live one. I'm obsessed with "Asshole Vote" - I love those changes at around 3 minutes or so.

    Im here...!

Oddly enough I just finished mixing the Hz version of Asshole Vote yesterday.

We incorporate the big ending that we do live as well as a new section from a track on album 5.

There is loads of stuff hidden in the tracks.

So far I have 23 minutes mixed and ready so we hope to send it off to the printers on the 29th of June.

This means it should be available from the 1st of August....

And then it is time to start wrapping up album number 5 which includes Being Pluto, Christmas Melt and a lot of other stuff....
