Great news Luis, demo sounds really good, when will you be releasing it?
Great news! I'm looking forward to the release and tour. Then maybe we can move the discussion of NEW music to the main on-topic thread where it can duke it out with threads about the dinosaurs.
What a long strange trip it's been, eh bro?
It really sounds superb. Hell, even Kay sat down & listened & loved it (she's biased but I know you better).
Can you post the players, please. Just list 'em all (no track 1,3,5,9 bullshit needed).
I know better than most what a labor of ????? this was, and I'm truly happy for you, mon frere.

It great to hear this project after waiting sooooooo... long. Good luck Gordo et al.

Cool! I love Sonus Umbra. One of the festivals should book the band.
Teaser sounds great, Luis!
Congratulations, like the instrumental sections a lot, not sure if the vocals are for me. Well done.

Awesome news. Reading Luis' posts over the years & finally I looked into who Luis was &, damn, I was turned on to a group I didn't know. Loving what I'm hearing. Congrats!
Heard a full cut the other day, man what a wicked Celloist my man.....sounded like mellotrons galore in that last section. Kudos.
Just had a chance to listen to this Luis. Wow... this is really great!! Look forward to the full release!!
Normal people are just people you don't know very well.
I am glad some people dig this. The album will be called Winter soulstice, and we are currently mixing and mastering this sucker. On this particular album, Sonus Umbra are:
Brian Harris - keyboards and vocals.
Rich Poston - electric guitar
Roey Ben-Yoseph - lead vocals
Tim McCaskey - acoustic guitar
Steve Royce - flute and vocals
Andy Tillotson - drums, acoustic guitar
David Keller - cello
And for the first time, all I did was play bass. It was a joy: No guitars, keys or anything else as had been the norm on previous albums. We are aching to play the album, along with some old tunes live, and we are busy rehearsing. Believe me, this live band is sounding better than it ever has. I say this as the world's leading expert on all things sonus... which means nothing, but I do know a thing or to about gigging. It's an exciting time. While this album was entirely written by me and my Might Could compadre Andy Tillotson, there are a lot of writers in the band, and already ideas are starting to take shape for the next one.
To address your comment Ian, vox are always tricky. For a while i was contemplating an all-instrumental album to follow Digging for Zeros. But for many reasons I really can't get into here, the band sort of broke up, I went through a pretty crazy 2 year period and came out at the other end with this record. Being in Might Could allows me to write all-instrumental music, so the focus on Sonus is to be a vocal band again. We do have long instrumental breaks though, and play a couple of instrumentals on the new album too. Keyboard enthusiasts will be delighted, but i will say no more. This is not a cheery album, so buyer beware.
I'm hardly on here anymore but glad i saw this!
excellent work, Luis and company! best of luck with the new album

Looking forward to your first Chicago gig my friend!!!

Yeah, I suppose I'll have to drag my old ass down there too.
