The second one is my favorite of the bunch.

Based on this consensus, I'll have to give the post-Stolt albums a closer listen.
You say Mega Ultra Deluxe Special Limited Edition Extended Autographed 5-LP, 3-CD, 4-DVD, 2-BlueRay, 4-Cassette, five 8-Track, MP4 Download plus Demos, Outtakes, Booklet, T-Shirt and Guitar Pick Gold-Leafed Box Set Version like it's a bad thing...
Yeah, I agree that the best albums came after Stolt. My absolute favorite is still the 3rd album, A Place In The Queue. My least favorite is the second album. That said, both the first and second albums are very good, I just think what came after is even better. I thought the last album was brilliant (not "twee" at all). I haven't listened to anything from the new album (not sure what has been released, aside from the video....maybe some samples?). Tillison is one of those artists where I just want to hear the whole thing when it's done and released and in my hands.
As to his singing..........when I heard the first album, I wasn't crazy about his voice. However, by Queue, I had gotten used to it and by COMM I had started to really enjoy it. He's like a cross between Peter Hammill and John Lennon. Which might be enough for some people to not want to hear him at all, but for me is a great combination.
"Dem Glücklichen legt auch der Hahn ein Ei."
Wow 8th album already?? I missed a couple in there. I like all the Tangent albums I own, but the first one is still my fave, especially the Canterbury track.
I just had two listens to the new album- Tangent fans will NOT be disappointed! I think this might be my favorite lineup- Andy, Reingold, Argen, Luke Machin and Theo Travis- wow!
Wait, have people already received the new one? My copy hasn't arrived yet. That Sacre du Travail or whatever one is my fave. Then there's the companion disk that went with that that I'm not sure I've even listened to yet. I've misplaced both of those - need to find them.
Arrived today, but I won't have a chance to listen just yet as I'm heading to Montreal tomorrow for combination holiday/Marillion weekend. Looks beautiful though, love the artwork... anyone else get theirs?

I listened to the whole album today. It was masterful.
The first thing that bowled me over was the drumming of Morgan Agren. Holy s&*t!!!!
Fans are in for a real treat with this one. Well done Andy!
I pre-ordered and just got an e-mail that it is on the way.
This is my desert island video clip.

Mine arrived today!
Just picked it up at Newbury Comics. $11.88
Is Andy Tillson the sole singer? Is this is the case, I will skip it. i've been trying to digest his singing (which means trying to like it as an acquired taste) but no luck. Is a sad thing because i really enjoyed his music and the musicianship when he is not singing.
For those who are interested, our interview with Andy Tillison about A Spark in the Aether is archived in the interview section at our website at www.deliciousagony.com
great players and some cool music going on but have to agree the vocals are hard to take
Went through it yesterday...has its moments...i find his referential lyrics to be a bit pandering, unnecessary, and lame ("If Neal can find God...", the self-conscious thinks-it's-funny-but-isn't "prog" things) and i LIKE his voice...but there's some cool musical moments for sure...and Agren/Reingold/Travis are good on this...i just find the other two wankers.
I got it 2 days ago. I still haven't had a chance to sit, relax and listen To it loud. Maybe tonight after work.
