What gets me is Jobsons attitude, he gives off this energy he's so bloody important. Honestly, I think Zinc sucks. His best work has been with someone else. Having said that, i saw the tour with Minnemann and Phillips,, Trey Gunn, it was incredible. I was there for the band and the music of UK, not him so much at all. Not a fan of Wetton, but would go see Mangini and Wackerman blow the stage up. I still may if the tickets aren't sky high as I have a feeling they may be. I think he blew his opportunity with UKZ having made the tickets so effing expensive. I understand at Town Hall NYC the place was half full.
I'm guessing that the high prices will definitely be a detriment for the SF show. I'm going to wait til a day or two before and see what can be had. If I'm right the Regency will be selling what's left at a discount.
And I don't even mind Eddie's vocals. I dig it if he'd incorporate some of the Zinc material into the UK set.The only thing that sucks on Zinc are Eddie's vocals.

poor Eddie... he just wants to be acknowledged as the world-famous Rock star he is people! where is your compassion?
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?
I have to say that I really don't understand all the hating on EJ. I met him at a UK show and the guy couldn't have been nicer. I would say that out of all of the rock stars I have met, he came across as the most sincere. He seemed genuinely interested in our conversation. I have also read many of his postings and never saw anything to indicate a lofty arrogance. He's not twisting anyone's arm to join the Zealots lounge and rock concerts are definitely getting more expensive in general. From my perspective, a lot of this jabbing seems to be kind of unfair and unfounded. If you don't want to buy a ticket, then don't but I don't think the guy deserves the shots at his personality and character.

Well said, Patelena!
I saw the Jobson/Wetton/Bozzio line-up a few years back, and it was worth every penny. If you have never seen some configuration of them before, it's pretty much a no-brainer, I'd say.

Did anyone get the jap reissue of Zinc???? Is it worth the upgrade???
I agree. A friend and I met him and he would have spent the night talking if he didn't eventually get pulled away. Either he was genuinely interested in talking with us (not just about himself - actually having a regular conversation) or he is one helluva an actor. It definitely felt like the latter. I get being unhappy with high ticket prices, and I'm unhappy he didn't set any Chicago or other midwest dates, but he was one of the nicest and engaging rock stars I've met. The funny thing was, I had read enough that I expected a short hello and brush off when we went to say hi. He was nothing like I'd read before. Very cool guy, to us at least.
I completely agree with this.
Way back in 1979, when I was just a teenager, a friend and I disagreed on something Eddie did on stage at their show at the Spectrum. So to settle the bet I wrote a letter to Eddie c/o his record company. I didn't really think anything would come of it but about 8-9 months later I got the nicest hand-written personal reply from Eddie himself!! So cool!!
If you were on the Cruise to the Edge last year Eddie was out and about almost the entire cruise. I've now met him several times and along with the guys in Marillion he is one of the nicest, warmest, sincere performers you could ever want to meet.
Oh and by the way, another benefit of the Zealot's Lounge, you can purchase those $99 concert tickets for just $79 with NO surcharges, and the seats will be in the first couple of rows.
I missed UK-Z the last time and would LOVE to see this, but Rush got me first.
I have a spare VIP-area ticket for the London show - a friend I was hoping would come along but can't. Contact me privately if you're interested.
Looking forward to the show !

I can see the advantage to the Zealots' Lounge if you're going to see Jobson play live, but (through no fault of his own) his touring has been rather limited. If you don't live near his regular performance areas, those Lounge benefits are moot and the benefits not associated with live touring rather seemed to dry up.

^^ Plus, you've paid to join the lounge, so...
I was a member of the Zealot's Lounge for a while. It did get me early ticket buying access for a couple of EJ's shows and it also got me into the UK teunion concert in LA early to see the band's warm ups, which was cool. That said, I ended up canceling as I just didn't feel there was enough exclusive content on the site and the store benefits didn't do much for me as I already had all of the UK albums. That said, nobody forced me to join or to cancel. No EJ conspiracy here. Overall, there were some benefits to being a member and I am glad I joined. There just wasn't enough incentive/content for me to retain my membership. I may reconsider if EJ starts putting some more rare tracks and such on the Lounge site.
Still no info on the highline ballroom website....
My experience was pretty similar to that of Patelena396.
I gave up the Zealot thing when I wasn't getting any ROI.
I did the Zealot's Lounge for a year and then they charged my card (without asking) for the second year. So I was on it for the first two years and haven't had an interest in continuing. I saw him three times included the NEARFest performances and all were great. Definitely worth seeing if you haven't had the pleasure. But the best parts of the shows were the same core songs, so I'm not interested in seeing him again any time soon.
