    A Djam Karet Goes Acoustic

Guitarist Gayle Ellett is a founding member of the long-lived American Prog band, Djam Karet. But on a separate project, he goes all acoustic, teaming up with Todd Montgomery who specializes in sitar, but who also plays all kinds of eastern stringed instruments. As Fernwood they create a Americana global music fusion. Arcadia is their third album of mostly acoustic ruminations orchestrated with everything from sitars to guitars to dilrubas. It's the Echoes CD of the Month for February. You can read a review and hear trax here. http://wp.me/p4ZE0X-4uI Sunday Echoes radio listeners can hear it tonight. Online subscribers can hear it anytime.

Yeah, auto-buy for me... The first two still get quite a few spins at my home.

I have the first 2 Ferwood records and this is an auto-buy for me as well. I find it makes for excellent dinner music or for those times I just want to kick back and chill.

Todd Montgomery was briefly a PE member back around the first record was released.

Listening to it now thanks to iTunes. Every bit on par with their previous two. Thanks for the heads up!

Sean, if you haven't heard the first two they are very similar in style. I have all three that I like to shuffle together as some excellent background/dinner/chill music.

Just ordered their newest Arcadia from Bandcamp. Any meal that combines cheese, bacon and chicken should be sufficient...

Repeat Broadcast: It’s the global ambient Americana of Fernwood a band that includes member of the Progressive Rock group, Djam Karet. Fernwood’s Gayle Ellett and Todd Montgomery talk about their meeting of the Ganges River and the Swanee River tonight on Echoes. http://wp.me/p4ZE0X-516

I only have the Almeria disc but it is fine, fine music. Looking forward to Arcadia.

I have all 3. They're pretty much interchangeable. I like to put all 3 on shuffle as dinner music.
