Les Nouvelles Polyphonies Corses avec Hector Zazou-Corsican vocals plus......

This 1991 cd features Corsican vocalists singing traditional and modern vocal arrangements with acoustic and electronic instruments accompanying them. The instruments were recorded separately from the vox.At first i feared this might be "by the numbers" World music, but my fears were unfounded. This is beautiful music, imo, and not a pastiche of elements shoved together with little care.Hector Zazou adds gentle electronics,Jon Hassell plays trumpet on a couple of tracks,John Cale plays piano on a track.

    It works(for me).I post a track from the cd.Enjoy.

Zazou was sometimes utterly brilliant - sometimes.
