Big Trailer Park Boys fan here, but I have tried to turn other friends on to it that did not get into it at all.

So I started watching The Magicians. Mostly out of boredom because it's really stupid but there's eye candy in it and they occasionally break out into song, which is kinda funny.

There was this exchange this evening that I thought you guys would get a kick out of. Basically, the world is about to end, again, and this chick is explaining what is going on.

Messenger Chick: Are you familiar with the harmonic convergence?

    Other: No

MC: A rare and powerful astrological occurence. A magnifier of magic. There have been four. The extinction of the dinosaurs, Pompeii, the sinking of Atlantis and.......the invention of auto-tune.

    I'm still laughing. Good one.

I watched "The Good Place" final episode last night.
As endings go, I was satisfied.
The writers could have tried to drag things out and milk the ratings.
But they didn't, and I appreciate that.
That being said. I will miss the show.

Nostalgia, you know, ain't what it used to be. Furthermore, they tells me, it never was.

In a way I thought it was a good ending, but in another I thought it ended way to soon (the episode, not the series). It really didn't feel like closure (despite the fates the main characters) and it really didn't feel like purposely leaving loose ends...it kind of fell somewhere in the middle which is just odd and somewhat unsatisfying. Idk...I"m probably not articulating what I'm feeling correctly. I will watch it again knowing how it ends to see if I feel differently this time.

That said, great show, and like you I will miss it, but it definitely needed to have a finite length as the scope of the show doesn't really lend itself to like a 10+ season run.
    No humor please, we're skittish.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

I think they tried to keep with the theme of philosophical thought and the "reality" that none of schools of thought answer the Big Question.
There are always more questions. And they go on forever.
I think the writers circled around some Big Questions in a comedic, but sensitive way.

The 'fireflys' bugged me a little, they seem more than nothing.

Yeah.. I will be tuning in. Also got the last episodes of Bojack Horseman on tap, and Better Call Saul begins this weekend. I only have Netflix and I still cannot keep up with all the shows.

Season 3 of The Sinner starts tonight. Looking forward to a new case!

We have two episodes left of Succession - what a fantastic series.

Crashing. On Netflix. Written by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge. It "follows the lives of six 20somethings living together as property guardians in a disused hospital, keeping the building safe in exchange for cheaper rent and a strict set of rules." (Wikipedia)

Such an enjoyable show. Unfortunately, it's only six episodes long.

Just watched the Netflix documentary “American Factory”. I found it quite well done and I thought the film makers tried to present a balanced story that tried to tell all sides of the story. As a production supervisor in an American Factory myself I found this to be very interesting.

Predictable, but I'm glad to see it. He was too good a character to just kill off.

Not yet, but I have it on my list of shows to watch on Prime. I'm actually watching Dead Like Me right now, which is pretty good.

Can't wait for the new season of Dead Like Me. When you finish the season, you'll see why. Also Fleabag is a really different spin on life then I'm used to, but a fun ride.

While there were no John Cusack and Jack Black cameos, this show worked quite well. It's kind of an updated version of the original movie without straying too far from the book/characters.

I would recommend it to fans of the movie or music, vinyl, and record store people especially. Although Zoe has a guy she sees who likes Phish and she does not, with kind of the tongue-in-cheek line

Clyde: Is there any music you don't like?
    Rob: Phish!
    Clyde: Don't do that.
    Rob: I mean it.
Clyde: You know how much that hurts.
Rob: Seventeen minute guitar solos are not a thing.
Clyde: It's not even music, it's more of a state of being.
Hey, you know I'm white, right? You know that
    Rob: Okay.

    Really looking forward to this:

Eric: "What the hell Hutch, it's all Rush, what if we wanted a little variety?"

Hutch: "Rush is variety, Bitch! Rule number one: in my van, its Rush! All Rush, all the time...no exceptions."

Are we talking about the same show? Dead Like Me only ran for two seasons and ended Oct of 2004.

If you want to watch a great show. Watch Counterpart.
It’s now on Amazon Prime. They show will always keep you guessing.

One of the best shows ever so well done.
