One of Your Favorite Albums As its Own World

Imagine one (or more) of your favorite albums as its own world, with its own people and its own atmosphere. What's in it? What does it look like? Who are its inhabitants and how do they behave? Has it had an interesting history?

    First, state the album.

Then tell us all about the world hidden within its grooves.

Front Line Assembly - Tactical Neural Implant

This world is a dark metal-skinned horror, the blackness occasionally punctuated by reddish hues of molten metal or newly forged steel. The metallic skeleton is the framework of one continuous structure that stretches from horizon to horizon. There are countless miles of cable interwoven between the girders of infrastructure and innumerable computer monitors, casting only the barest light from the coded lines of undecipherable data, stipple the tortured exoskeleton with a cold purpose..........The denizens of this world, its atmosphere dank with the smell of cordite and artificially produced gasses, are cyborg - half human/ half machine........ They strive for their humanity....and fail

Interesting idea for a thread, but I don't think I can get beyond the many possible joke answers right away. So I'll start with Kate Bush's The Kick Inside, and I'm basically just fondling an 18 or 19 year old Kate Bush. And she loves it!

I'll try to come up with a better answer...

Ok Ill play, WIRE 154... Probably the most hypnotic album I own. Im on a train, looking out the window, i see a horse stuck in a barbwire fence, the more it struggled, the more it strangled. Or I'm flying over a planet, that is really a map... And the cartographer is working on it... But hes stuck at one particular coordinate.... Im stuck with another person in a room and all we can do is observe one another... Etc etc.... You get the drift.

The best latter day psychedelia ever. Music, words.

It's 3 AM and I'm dead trying to find Hell, but I'm in a swampy area where opossums talk to alligators and all of the colors are inverted, and there are these weird mirrored rectangles stretching all the way to the horizon.

It's an interesting idea, but when I dredge my memory all I seem to come up with is albums I own that seem very atmospheric and seem to tell a story - which was another recent thread.

DT- Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory

I'm a turn of the (21st) century man named Nicholas who (in a past life) was a young woman named Victoria murdered in 1928 and I'm now trying to determine through dreams and hypnosis the details of my death. As it turns out, I was murdered by my ex-lover, Senator Edward Baines, when I'm discovered with his brother, Julian Baines. Oh...and the hypnotist happens to be the murderer (reincarnated).

Gee, that was easy! Thanks, DT!
