    Happy The Man

Hey, how come nobody ever mentions this great band on this site??
We are the grandchildren of apes, not angels
But only we are gifted with the eyes to see
On days without FEAR, when our heads are clear
    That angels, we could be

I think they deserve not just a thread, but a thread for every one of their releases!

I have a bootleg CD from "Sounds Reasonable Studios" of them. I'll start a thread for that one too!
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

I think its total crap that they don't have a thread for each tune they wrote.

What he does not realise though is that he'd have had more success with just one thread called "Happy The Man" where all their music (and Oblivion Sun) could have been discussed. The broader the subject matter, the better success a thread has.

I think all of Kit Watkins' solo albums should also get a seperate thread, so we can see the whole picture clearly

HTM will get their own thread when Phil Collins gets around to ruining them.

good one to end this thread on!

would everyone prefer to see the same old boring threads on the usual suspects?
I'm glad to see a change of pace here... even if it is still just a Symph band

Just passing on some friendly advice. You look at the most successful non-Yes threads out there and they're generally fairly broad-based topics; allowing for a more open ended conversation, thus more posts.

For the record, you made me dust off the first two HTM records and I was glad to revisit them. So from that point of view, mission accomplished.

Same here. CH was the only one that wasn't in the basement, so I got the rest out yesterday and today I'm going to rip them all and put them on my iPod. I'm psyched to revisit these as it's been ages. So I appreciate the HTM bomb.

Although Happy The Man has a website of their own, I advise to visit the Happy The Fan-forum if you want to read a lot of interviews, reviews etc. The forum doesn't get much new posts anymore, but for archive-issues it's a lovely site.

I want to apologize for flooding the board with the individual albums. I can see now that nobody does that. I am also glad this thread evolved into education over denigration. I am here to learn and boy did I ever.

Personally, I thought it was fun to have a HTM Fest for the long weekend. (Long for some of us anyway.) It's a band that for whatever reasons hasn't gotten that much discussion time in a while.

People have committed worse offenses here than to gush over a classic 70s prog band...

Someone wrote a nice post on a thread on that forum dedicated on the cover-artist Mario Grimaldi, who did the Crafty Hands-cover.
He was in contact with the son of Grimaldi, who has been posting a lot of video's on the work of his father lately.
