    Patti Smith's current band?

    A friend is taking my son to see Patti Smith tomorrow, and I'm trying to find out who's in her current band. Anybody know?

    That's not guaranteed.

    Wikipedia says the following, FWIW:
    2007–present:

    * Lenny Kaye – guitar
    * Jay Dee Daugherty – drums
    * Tony Shanahan – bass, keyboards
    * Jack Petruzzelli – guitar, bass, keyboards

    Last year wifee and me saw Patti doing a poetry reading/story telling performance with songs interspersed between. Lenny Kaye was present along with a percussionist and multi instrumentalist (names escape me) doing a more low key, unplugged type performance, it was fantastic!
    Enjoy

    I'm not going, my son is going with his friend, and his friend's mother is apparently dating the drummer so they'll be backstage, etc which should be kind of cool.

    It's Patti Smith's birthday today too. Michael Stipe opened for her last night (unannounced) so he might be back tonight or maybe someone different.

    One of the songs he did last night was New York, New York. And two REM songs I'm not familiar with, plus a couple other covers.
