I can't believe I forgotten to mention the following compositions from Karlheinz Stockhausen:
Sirius (double LP)
Sternklang (double LP)
Mantra
Hymnen (double LP)
Kontakte (original all electronic version)
Kurzwellen

Mei by Echolyn
The Way Up by the Pat Metheny Group
There's a bunch in Bill Laswell's and Pete Namlook's (and Bill Laswell & Pete Namlook's) discographies. Outland comes to mind.
On a less serious note, has anyone mentioned these yet?
Pat Metheny, Zero Tolerance for Silence
Lou Reed, Metal Machine Music
rcarlberg: Is there anything sadder than a song that has never been played?
Plasmatopia: Maybe a song in D minor that has never been played?
bob_32_116: That would be a terrific triple bill: Cyan, Magenta and Yello.
trurl: The Odyssey: "He's trying to get home."
Ephemeral Sun: “Harvest Aorta” (41 minutes)
Todd Rundgren: “A Treatise on Cosmic Fire” (36 minutes; the piece takes up one side of vinyl, but that was as long as some entire LPs back in the day!)
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883...
Waves - Jade Warrior
Another vote for Mei.
Also, since no one has mentioned it, Delirium Cordia by Fantomas.

I'd say Klaus Schulze - Picasso On The Beach, but it's two 80-min CDs full for the one piece. So it's too long!!
I'd consider Mei by Echolyn the gold standard in this regard, especially as it sounds like it was clearly designed as a single composition from the start. This is kind of a weird thread in a way, I don't see why something like Rubycon or Hergst Ridge shouldn't count, though to me they feel more like 2 sidelongs that weren't titled.

I should have mentioned the Kites side in the side long epic thread...
A1 Songs of the Forest 3:30
A2 Wind Song 3:25
A3 The Emperor Kite 2:21
A4 Wind Borne 7:32
A5 Kite Song 2:20
but I went for the B-side instead.
