Well, no, when you mention the name I know who BB is of course, but I would have been hard pushed to say who the drummer in Yes/King Crimosn was if directly asked the Q.

BUT it isn't surprising as I have always liked Pink Floyd more than KC and a universe more than Yes. I still listen to KC, moreso nowadays than to PF actually. BUT I almost never listen to Yes.

No no... that's Bartley Butsfordd lol

Saying a drummer is "prog" just seems silly to me. Obviously we arent including Country and Punk drummers here but hey... Back to the head of the definition of what "prog" is again. My definition is very different than some. I mentioned in the other thread - "modern" also seems to be current players to me. So what if they're 65 or 25. If they are playing and sound great - they're "modern."

He plays with Neal Morse on the latter's church tours now. It's just the two of them. They're very progressive.

Ronald Bruner Jr. with The Stanley Clarke Band

Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?
