Trioscapes- bass, drums & sax- math metal prog?

Just picked up their latest, Digital Dream Sequence. A little noisier than the last one, i.e. more weird sax noises, this is really well-recorded heavy precision rock for you who might like that type of thing. Killer musicianship. No vocals (probably a few grunts I haven't ID'd yet), but damn, this is good shee. Check them out on YouTuber, they have some good sounding live-in-the-studio stuff.

    RIYL? No idea.

Hmmm sounds like Tripod from your description - did a gig upstate NY with them and they were amazing live.

Here's a bit of them, for those interested:

One of the YouTube comments name-checks "21st Century Schizoid Man", and I agree. With the provision that Trioscape take matters in the opposite direction from almost all of the very many descendants of that seminal tune: Instead of jettisoning the sax and heading toward what eventually became metal, they drop the guitar and head toward jazz - although a rackety, metal-ish version of jazz. Indeed, note that they are on Metal Blade Records.

Yep. That's good. I read the review in Prog and figured I'd like it. Thanks for the heads ups.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.

Love DDS. Powerful playing from all involved.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

I'm only here to reglaze my bathtub.
